Learn how to help your yoga students in class with safe and effective hands on adjustments. Yoga is usually a physical activity and helping people with physical contact can be very rewarding for both parties if done in a safe and positive way. There are many ways to do this, and on this workshop we will look at all the important things involved in the process. Observation, safe positioning, communication and a variety of techniques will be explored. There will be a range of postures looked at, but we will be open to any postures you are interested in. Raquel has spent many years teaching and giving hands on adjustments to hundreds of people of all shapes and sizes and uses techniques in her classes that she has tried and tested over many years. We will have an opportunity to explore adjustments on each other and change partners so we can look at different bodies and get instant feedback, we will also look at different modalities of adjustments, we will briefly look at the sensitivity in touch and help us look at the sexual aspect and how to handle various people and situations
This workshop with be helpful for those wishing to be become a teacher, teachers, and trainees who are wanting to advance their sills in clear communication and to build confidence in adjusting and correcting students, this workshop will build on your knowledge with focus on increasing your hands on skills. You will improve your ability to work within a class to lead a sequence while observing misalignments, offering verbal and hands-on corrections to individual students, working to support beginners and those with injuries, limitations or special needs. You will also learn a safe process to enable you to adjust students, allowing them to move deeper into postures such as twists and forward bends.
You will learn how to improve your ability to communicate to students and to more clearly articulate instructions. These skills increase your teaching tools and enhance your student’s experience. We will also have a short practice, we will role play teacher/students and Q/A and finish with a yoga nidra.
